Project!
Being tight on money means that most of our presents this holiday season are homemade. Today I repurposed an old tablecloth into a half apron! I had seen a few cute vintage style ones at Anthropologie, so I did my best to make my tablecloth into a cute apron. I didn’t quite have enough blue fabric of the portion of the tablecloth that I cut, but did have some yellow fabric lying around that were made into the waist strap and pocket. It was really fun! I even added a few pleats, a pocket and scalloped the bottom edge. Perhaps I’ll make more.

Impressive! And bonus for reusing a tablecloth!
I like the pleats, are they hard to do? And the pocket is perfect.
I love looking around Anthropologie, but it’s more of an “inspirational” place than a “purchasing” place.

Sarah, pocket was the easiest thing: just a rectangular piece of fabric sewed on 3 sides. And ditto re: Anthropologie for inspiration, although my mother gifted me with one of their jackets (I told her that’s all I wanted for Xmas) that I love and wear all the time.
BTW, I did make another apron too for another gift — not with a tablecloth, but with some fabric I had around. I’ll get pics up soon.

Whoops you asked about the pleats. Nope not hard. I just folded the fabric over on itself and stitched the top.
