Hi Ashley!

a) I grew up in a small market town - that counts as countryside. Now I live in sunny Edinburgh!!
b) Married - kid on the way :-)
c) and d) I would love to think that we'll stay in Edinburgh but who knows? Biggest influence (like yourselves) would be Craig's work and where that might take us. I guess it depends on making the most sensible decisions out of the options available. The reasons I love living in Edinburgh is because it's so pretty and we know lots of folk here from different places. The main reason a country bumpkin like myself can live in a city like Edinburgh is that it's just about the right size for me. It's big enough to have things going on (theatre, music, shopping, coffee shops, churches etc.) but small enough to randomly bump into people that you know - I love that. Having lived in London I know that I can't cope with larger cities, but going back to living in the country like when I grew I would be hard - although now that I can drive (because I'm a grown up) I could probably cope better if there was a decent city nearby). Also Craig's folks are nearby.

This probably doesn't help at all, eh? I hope some answers start presenting themselves soon. Thinking of you. Jx

Grew up in the suburbs. Now live in the country [at least to me] - but not for long... only a few more days, and then we will be back in the suburbs. :)

Married - yes, and have 2 kiddos

Long term? Suburbs. I would love to live in Manhatten, NYC, though! My dream! ;) Not influenced by a or b.

The suburbs [to me] is the best place to have kids. There are families around, backyards, but you're close to other things to do as well. The country sounds great, but living in the country can get pretty old after a while. Unless you have a farm, of course. ;)

Hmmm. now you have my curious. ;)

I grew up in the country and the suburbs. We now live in a small town (not the country, or a suburb.)

I am married with two small children.

We are putting our house on the market to move to the city and I hope we are able to live in the city from now on. I love the idea that we can rent, and then buy a bungalow, then a larger house as M makes more $ in a firm. But our primary reason is to be in community with our church and to be able to do more.

I grew up in the suburbs, and I now live in an even smaller suburb, in another state.
I'm married and have 3 grown kids.
I think we may live here for a very long time. Neither a) or b) are influencing that decision.
We are living here because of 2 reasons: we both have jobs in neighboring cities, and we chose this town because my husband's parents live here.
