Board games?

Okay, so I was suddenly struck with the urge to play Clue the other day but didn’t/don’t want to spend $20+ on a game that’s probably only exciting for 10-year-olds. (I imagine that it’s simply my childhood remembrances that make the game seem so great still). Anyway, I’d love to hear your game recommendations! I’d like something that’s not super involved but does require thought and can be played by 2 players — something sort of like Settlers of Catan.

Any ideas? What games do you like to play?

How about Racko, Boggle or Yahtzee? We can loan them to you if you’d like to try them out. You can play with 2 players. Hugs, Mom

No, clue is great! I have three versions of it. A couple friends and I played all the time a couple years ago. Still interesting.

If you want a game that is like Clue but slightly more involved and with better replay value, try ‘Mystery of the Abbey’. Great mystery game. There’s also Murder City, which adds n a storytelling element after you ’solve’ a case.

Otherwise, 2 player games that are great – try either Mr.Jack (one player plays the detectives, the other Jack the Ripper) and Odin’s Ravens (a travel card game for 2).

I like Scrabble and Yahtzee. Yahtzee is my family’s “holiday” game – when we’re away it gets played a LOT.
