Just because

Because I like to self-analyse and because I like to procrastinate and because you like to participate, go here.

Because we are learning to love the city, please read this great testament to TK’s work in New York from The New York Times. How do we do this for Los Angeles? (HT: Sheena).

If you’re interested in some learning in your spare time and don’t want to or can’t attend classes, check these out: The Bible as Literature and on another site, there’s a whole bunch of lectures about the Bible, lay leadership and issues in the church here.

This is sooo not relevant, sorry, but Bryce - new offside rule here!

Gosh I’m a horrible person. I’m gonna pick adjectives for you now to make up for it.

Hmmm…Doesn’t really seem very new to me. It basically just says that a player in the offside position doesn’t matter as long as he’s not a part of the play. That’s how it’s always been (although not many folks have understood that to be the case).

Interesting article about Tim. I’m surprised to see it, since I read something his wife wrote a couple months ago on how Redeemer didn’t do interviews with the press, etc. It sounded like a pretty positive and fair analysis though.

    Ashley,
I read your interesting post on Christian education,
    then followed a link.

    I am new here.
    I have never posted before.
    Interesting…the adjectives in the window.

We still make it our policy not to encourage or do interviews with the press. This reporter, however, was after us for two years to do this and we decided that we had a chance with him for very rare, fair coverage. So we took a chance and it was a fine article. But the policy is still a good one. Generally, the press doesn’t ‘get’ religion and doesn’t know how to cover it.

A thought provoking quote from the Keller article

“We’re asking God to get us over that little hump so we can save ourselves,” he said. “It doesn’t occur to us that we’re looking for something besides Jesus to save us.”

A good thought for me to ponder daily.

Thanks for the putting the link on your blog.

That makes sense, Tim. I thought it sounded like a good policy when I first read Cathy’s article.
