Things we’ve done recently
1. We worked out today–wow, amazing!
2. Read and researched stuff for a number of days.
3. Rearranged the whole boxroom so we could fit our “desk” in there; now we have a bigger area for a “living room” and a separate study/mess room.
4. Had good dinners (Thai steak salad and coconut curry chicken).
5. Saw “The Day after Tomorrow” with Andrew and Kay.
6. Wondering why no one’s (except Katie) commenting on our vacation–maybe because we called our families about it and that’s pretty much our readership.
7. Hoping to get the book club up and running soon, but only 2 people have joined the email group.

Sorry, when the blog is infrequent because you’re on vacation, it’s hard for some of us to get back in the swing of things. So, after telling us of all your “experiences” on your vacation (like being thought an Iraqi diplomat), did you have a good time? Were you trapped with a bunch of Brits or were you able to mingle with the locals? Did you bring some new recipes home with you?
What is the agenda for this summer and when do you go to Ireland? Bryce, how much do your expect to complete on your Christian education project?
We just got home from the club with the Bethkes after the mayor and City council joined us for the dedication of “Hidden Lakes” and we took two of them on a trip around the lake. Now we’re hanging out until the Lakers game begins and the Kandas come over for dinner.
Keep on blogging.

Dad,
We did have a good time; we slept in and read a bunch and enjoyed relaxing out in the sun. It was sure nice to have warm weather and mild nights. We bought a Greek cookbook too! Although there were several Brits in Perissa we mainly stuck to ourselves and ate Greek food every night.
Let’s see, summer plans. I have a few things with Holyrood Conferences this month. The Hales arrive in the UK on the 19th, are up visiting us around the 23rd, I’ll go up to the Crocketts on the 29th to the 2nd of July (Bryce will be in London that week at a conference) and then we all go to Ireland July 3-7. Then Bryce and I are going down to Cambridge for Kate and Gareth’s wedding! I’ll let Bryce post about his progress.

Well I expect to finish writing the handbook this summer, and then start teaching the class in the fall. I have been in the library every (week)day since we’ve been back researching for my first chapter. It’s going resonably well so far. I had been hoping to have this chapter written by the end of the week, but I had a small crisis and will probably have to set that date back until the middle-to-end of next week.
Where is (are?) Hidden Lakes (or is it a secret)?

I really want to comment on the picture of Bryce with pigtails, but I just can’t find the right words. Our experience on Greek islands was that the water was turned OFF from noon til 3 or 4, a fact they let us find out for ourselves with shampoo in my hair, rather then alerting us at the time of check-in, so luke warm sounds like real progress! The dark sand beach with palapa umbrellas looks exactly how we remember the beaches on Rhodos. Great memories!
